Fortnite players and Family Guy fans alike were left scratching their heads (and maybe flexing their biceps) when the portly Peter Griffin landed in Chapter 5 Season 1, sporting a physique as impressive as his laugh. But why, oh why, is Peter Griffin suddenly buff?
Fear not, fellow mystery-mongers, for the answer lies not in dumbbells and protein shakes, but in a delightfully absurd concoction of expired Slurp Juice and questionable self-improvement tactics. A new Family Guy animation reveals Peter’s journey to swole-dom, starting with a disastrous physical exam under the watchful eye of Meowscles. Faced with the stark reality of his fitness (or lack thereof), Peter opts for a shortcut, downing the dubious Slurp Juice and transforming into the chiseled warrior we see in Fortnite.
This isn’t the first time Peter’s physique has defied expectations. Remember Season 2’s “He’s Too Sexy for His Fat,” where liposuction briefly gifted him a six-pack? Of course, it wouldn’t be Peter Griffin without a healthy dose of misfortune, and that’s exactly what happened when he ended up in a vat of lard.
But Fortnite, never one to shy away from a good laugh, has embraced this buff version of Peter, weaving him into the fabric of its lore. He arrives with a delightful arsenal of Family Guy-inspired goodies, from the iconic Surfin’ Bird emote to the beloved Petercopter. And who could forget the thrill of hunting down the Peter Griffin boss at Snooty Steppes? Clad in a gold suit (naturally), this poultry-loving powerhouse will reward your victory with a Mythic Hammer Pump Shotgun and a cheeky hurt knee animation.
It seems Epic Games has truly outdone itself with this Chapter. Beyond the buff buffoonery, Fortnite has received a much-needed facelift, with new LEGO and racing modes joining the classic battle royale experience. And while the Kool-Aid Man skin remains a dream for now, one thing’s for sure: with Peter Griffin in the picture, Fortnite is definitely not short on entertainment.
So, grab your Slurp Juices and Petercopters, folks, because the battle royale just got a whole lot funnier and buffier. Remember, in Fortnite, even the most unlikely heroes can get ripped (and slightly unhinged) in the blink of an eye.
