Venom is one of the most popular Spider-Man villains, and fans have been asking for the ability to free roam as him for years. While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 doesn’t include a dedicated Venom free roam mode, there is a glitch that allows you to do it.
To free roam as Venom, you’ll need to play the “Don’t Be Scared” mission. Once you get to the point where you’re fighting the hunters in Times Square, climb up the building on the left marked with the Blackman Brothers advertisement. Then, climb up the next building in front of you.
At the top of the second building, you’ll find an invisible wall on the left and right. However, if you run into the right invisible wall a few times, it will disable the left invisible wall and allow you to free roam NYC.
Venom was not designed for free roam, so you may encounter some comical oddities during your adventure. These include a peculiar “swimming” animation where the symbiote appears to attempt a breaststroke and then freezes with its arms above the water. You can even ride a bike through the city, although Venom’s oversized appearance on a bicycle adds to the humor.
The Venom free roam glitch in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 provides players with a unique and entertaining experience. Keep in mind that game developers may patch this glitch in future updates, so make the most of it while it lasts. While Venom free roam may not be a permanent feature in the game, it’s always possible that we may see a Venom DLC in the future, providing even more opportunities to explore the dark side of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Enjoy your Venom free roam adventure while you can!
