How to Unlock Mike and Sulley in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Calling all Dreamlight Valley residents! The wait is over! Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. are finally available to join your charming village. This guide will walk you through the quests you need to complete to unlock these beloved characters.

Unlocking Steps

Before you begin the quests, you’ll need to unlock the Monsters, Inc. Realm. This is done by spending 15,000 Dreamlight inside the Dream Castle. Once unlocked, you can access the realm and embark on the following quests:

  • Escape Claws
  • Eye on the Prize

Completing these two quests will unlock Mike and Sulley as villagers in Dreamlight Valley. After finishing the quests, you’ll also need to place their house for 20,000 Star Coins.

Now, let’s dive into the specific steps for each quest!

How to Complete Escape Claws Quest

Unlocking the Monsters, Inc. Realm

Before you get your hands on everyone’s favorite monsters, Mike and Sulley, you’ll need to unlock the Monsters, Inc. Realm in the Dream Castle. This will set you back 15,000 Dreamlight. Once unlocked, a short animation will introduce the different locations within the realm, leading you to your first objective: Examine the door to the Laugh Floor.

Disguised as a Monster

Head towards the large door and interact with it. You’ll be denied access, prompting you to search for something to disguise yourself as a monster. Luckily, a solution is nearby. Interact with the locker next to the notice board, open the Lost and Found Monster Wear, and equip the provided outfit.

Entering the Laugh Floor

With your disguise in place, use your camera to take a selfie. Finally, interact with the door again to access the Laugh Floor and have a chat with Sulley.

Cleaning Up the Laugh Floor

Sulley will ask you to help clean up the Laugh Floor. This involves removing Slug Slime Puddles and Party Trash. Simply use your watering can on the puddles and interact with the trash to remove it. Once the area is spotless, talk to Sulley again.

Brewing Up Success

Next, head towards the Coffee Station in the first room. Here, you’ll need to make two special drinks: The Wazowski Special and Sulley’s Coffee.

  • The Wazowski Special:
    • 1 Non-Dairy Screamer (found near the Coffee Station)
    • 3 Sugar
    • 1 Coffee Bean
  • Sulley’s Coffee:
    • 5 Coffee Beans

Bring the prepared drinks back to Mike and Sulley in the Laugh Floor, and exhaust all their dialogue options.

Finding the Emergency Manual and Fixing the Power

Locate the Emergency Manual on the computer desk next to Mike. Hand it over to Sulley, and he’ll task you with restoring the power flow to rescue Mike. This involves fixing two areas:

  • Electrical Panel: Look for glowing objects on the Laugh Floor to find the required fuse.
  • Power Lines: Interact with the sparking lines on the ground.

Once both areas are fixed, talk to Mike and Sulley again to complete the “Escape Claws” quest. Congratulations! You’ve helped our monstrous friends and paved the way for them to join your village.

How to Complete Eye on the Prize Quest

Having rescued Mike in the “Escape Claws” quest, you’re now one step closer to bringing him and Sulley to your village. However, Mike has one final hurdle – the “Eye on the Prize” quest. Let’s help him win this playful challenge and unlock their residency!

Acquiring the MIFT Toolkit

Head northwest on the Laugh Floor and interact with the red cabinet. This will grant you the MIFT Toolkit, allowing you to open the previously inaccessible Out of Order door located in the first room, next to the notice board.

Obtaining the Keycards

Unlock the door using the MIFT Toolkit and proceed to the reception room. Collect the Keycards there, triggering the next objective. Speak with Mike again, offer him the Keycards, and enter the door labeled bay F2.

The Mystery Behind the Doors

Within bay F2, interact with specific elements to gather clues:

  • The elephant drawing near the lamp.
  • The clown drawing on the right wall near the door.
  • The curtain in the room to reveal the “Ringmaster’s Hat and the Wand” drawing.

Talk to Mike after interacting with the clues, and head towards the door labeled bay F3. Inside, your objective instructs you to take photos of the clues in the room. Use your camera to capture:

  • The lights on the ceiling
  • The book on the floor to the left of the bookshelf
  • The astrojet poster on the wall

Finding the Whoopee Cushion

Consult Mike once more and enter the door labeled bay F4. Here, you need to search the room for a physical clue. Remove the pile of clothes near the door, revealing the Whoopee Cushion. Collect it and return to Mike.

The Final Stretch: The Soda Quest

Your final task is to find three specific sodas:

  • Red Soda: Located in the Red Soda Machine in the first room.
  • Blue Soda: Interact with the blue switch on the wall beside the Blue Soda Machine before collecting it.
  • Green Soda: Use your Royal Pickaxe to smash the Green Soda Machine inside the room previously unlocked with the MIFT Toolkit.

Once you’ve collected all three sodas, bring them back to Mike to finally complete the “Eye on the Prize” quest. Congratulations! You’ve helped Mike conquer his fear of leaving the Laugh Floor, paving the way for him and Sulley to become residents of your delightful Disney Dreamlight Valley.
