It’s said that the most easily memorable period in the life and superhero career of Peter Parker/Spider-Man was when he was still a high school student, something that’s been reflected on his most recent animated series adaptations. Still, Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man (2012-17) somewhat divided the fan-base with its presentation, leading to a newer Spider-Man series that started in 2017.
While some might have been put off at seeing a high-school aged Peter again (older animated series had him in college, or an adult), and disapproving for multiple from limited animation to the introduction of other Spider-powered characters, Spider-Man was popular enough in terms of its ongoing storylines to warrant a second season, now ongoing.
