Announced in 2014, given a director in 2015, and cast just months before filming started in 2017, Disney’s live-action adaptation of Dumbo still managed to take everyone by surprise when its first teaser was released this week. It’s likely not to leave a dry eye in many of its viewers.
Here we have a list of all cast members for the Dumbo remake, as well as their roles in the story, now given a narrative tweak by director Tim Burton.

- Colin Farrell as Holt Farrier – former Kentucky circus performer and one-armed World War I veteran, working as caretaker for Dumbo, a long-eared baby elephant in Max Medici’s circus
- Danny DeVito as Max Medici – small circus owner and ringmaster, Holt’s employer; gets his operation bought up by V.A. Vandemere
- Michael Keaton as V.A. Vandemere – entrepreneur and owner of the Dreamland entertainment venue; has some dark secrets and is interested in Dumbo
- Eva Green as Collette Merchant – French trapeze artist in Dreamland
- Nico Parker and Finley Robbins as Milly and Joe Farrier – Colin’s children and Dumbo’s closest playmates
- Alan Arkin as J. Griffin Remington – Wall Street business magnate
- Dumbo is a CGI/puppetry elephant
