List of Disney Animated TV Series that Got Movies (in Theaters, TV or Home Media)

If there were animated movies in the Disney Canon that were given spinoff series on television, the reverse also holds true in that several Disney TV animated series also got big movies themselves. They may have mostly been direct-to-video, but it just proves those series’ stories deserved a feature-length telling.

Here we have a list of Disney series that had animated movies, whether shown in cinemas, on TV or on home media. Some entries are unique, in that those series spun off from Disney animated films, but the series gave way to movie of their own. Let’s have a look at them:

  1. Ducktales (1987-1990) – Ducktales: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990)
  2. The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1988-1991) – Piglet’s Big Movie (2003) and Pooh’s Heffalump Movie (2005)
  3. Goof Troop (1992) – A Goofy Movie (1995) and An Extremely Goofy Movie (2000)
  4. Doug (1996-1999 Disney run) – Doug’s 1st Movie (1999)
  5. Recess (1997-2001) – Recess: School’s Out (2001)
  6. Teacher’s Pet (2000-2002) – Teacher’s Pet (2004)
  7. Kim Possible (2002-2007) – Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time (2003) and Kim Possible: So the Drama (2005, would’ve been the series finale except the show was renewed)
  8. Lilo & Stitch: The Series (2003-2006) – Leroy & Stitch (2006), serves as series finale
