List of Disney Princesses who Appeared in “Sofia the First” (and When)

Sofia the First on Disney Junior gained a solid viewer following thanks to its concept of having the main character and her friends receiving help and advice from the Disney Princesses themselves, summoned by Sofia’s keepsake magical amulet. Here’s a list of the Princesses who’ve helped Sofia, and when they appeared.

SEASON 1 (2012, 2013-14)

• Cinderella – appears in the “Once Upon a Princess” pilot movie (2012) and helps Sofia befriend her new stepsister Princess Amber with the song “True Sisters”.
• Jasmine (Aladdin) – appears in episode 12 “Two to Tangu”, where she helps Sofia and Amber learn not to fear trying new things by teaching them how to fly a magic carpet, with the song “The Ride of Your Lives”.
• Belle (Beauty and the Beast) – appears in episode 17 “The Amulet and the Anthem” where she teaches Sofia that what we DO is more meaningful than what we SAY through the song “Make it Right”.
• Ariel (The Little Mermaid) – appears in the “The Floating Palace 2-parter (22-23), teaching Sofia about love of family (and how it lies in all the family’s members), via the song “The Love We Share”.
• Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) – appears in episode 24 “Holiday in Enhancia”, showing how Sofia can trust her animal friends to help her in times of need. She’s also the first Princess not to sing in her appearance.

SEASON 2 (2014-15)

• Snow White – appears in episode 2 “The Enchanted Feast”, encouraging Sofia to follow her instincts. Like Aurora, she doesn’t sing.
• Mulan – appears in episode 12 “Princesses to the Rescue!” teaching Sofia and her companions about inner strength and believing in themselves, to the song “Stronger than You Know”
• Rapunzel (Tangled) – appears in “The Curse of Princess Ivy” (episodes 18-19), rescuing Sofia and Amber after the latter’s jealousy lands them in peril, while helping Amber to reconcile with Sofia through the song “Dare to Risk it All”.
• Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) – appears in episode 20 “Winter’s Gift”, singing “From the Heart” to show Sofia what truly counts in gift-giving.

SEASON 3 (2015-17)

• Merida (Brave) – appears in episode 5 “The Secret Library”, teaching Sofia confidence in her assigned task. Like Aurora and Snow White, she doesn’t sing.

In hindsight, that accounts for all official Disney Princesses in the franchise except one, Pocahontas. Other (non-Princess) summons by Sofia’s amulet include Olaf from Frozenin Season 3 episode 13 “The Secret Library: Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle”, and the evil Princess Ivy when Amber used the amulet in the Season 2 2-parter (where Rapunzel was officially summoned).
