The Marvel Comics character Thor was the inspiration for an American superhero movie released in 2011. It is the fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

Synopsis:
Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the son of the old Norse god King Odin (Anthony Hopkins), will shortly succeed to the throne of Asgard. But when the Frost Giants, adversaries of the gods, break the terms of their alliance and enter the palace on the day of his coronation, Thor snaps and strikes brutally. Thor is punished by being exiled to Earth by Odin. Thor’s biggest enemy is his own brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who is plotting mischief in Asgard while Thor is unable to stop him.
