The American fantasy swashbuckler film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest was released in 2006. It is the second film in the franchise, following the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

Synopsis:
Set one year after the events of The Curse of the Black Pearl, the film depicts Captain Jack Sparrow owing a debt to Davy Jones (Bill Nighy), the hideous captain of the Flying Dutchman, and is marked for death and chased by the Kraken. Meanwhile, the wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) is disrupted by Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander), who wants Turner to acquire Jack’s magical compass in order to uncover the Dead Man’s Chest.
