Apple decided not to renew its debut program Dear Edward for a second season.;Based on Ann Napolitano’s novel of the same name, Friday Night Lights and Parenthood executive producer Jason Katims developed the television series. It was a result of Katims’ overall contract with Apple Studios (he later switched to Imagine Television), and it brought Connie Britton from Friday Night Lights back together with him.;The film Dear Edward depicts the story of 12-year-old Edward Adler (Colin O’Brien), who escapes a tragic commercial airline crash that kills all of the other passengers, including his family.
