When the Avengers’ operations cause collateral damage, political pressure grows to establish a system of responsibility. Members of the team are now very divided due to the new status quo. Captain America (Chris Evans) advocates for superheroes to be left alone by the government while they do their job of protecting citizens. Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man strongly opposes and advocates for regulation. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) are forced to choose a side as the argument develops into an all-out feud.
