The much-anticipated Thrills & Frills update has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, bringing two beloved characters: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Daisy Duck! This guide will walk you through the process of unlocking them and welcoming them to your valley.
How to Unlock Oswald in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Expansion Required & Quest Chain
First things first, you’ll need to own the A Rift in Time expansion. Once you do, progress the main story until you reach Act II: The Spark of Imagination. Here, Merlin will offer you a new quest called “The Sunken Ruins.” Buckle up, because this quest leads to a series of others:
- “The Sunken Ruins”
- “A Bit of Help From Your Friends” (branches into quests for Gaston, Rapunzel, and EVE)
After conquering these challenges and navigating the puzzles within the Ancient Ruins, you’ll finally meet Oswald at the bottom!
Befriending Oswald: Puzzles and Crafting
Your mission now is to help Oswald repair the bridge lever. Here’s how:
- Locate the large trumpet to the left of Oswald. Blow it to scare an Exclamation Mark out of him. Collect it.
- Place the Exclamation Mark in the designated slot on the right side of the area.
- Interact with the lever to create a bridge.
- Cross the bridge with Oswald and chat with him. He’ll drop a Question Mark. Pick it up.
- Find and collect three Flying Gears scattered around the area.
- Clear the path ahead and use the Timebending Table to create a Question Mark Wheel.
- Place the Question Mark Wheel on the machine and interact with it to build a path.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7, collecting another set of Flying Gears and crafting another Question Mark Wheel.
- Use the second lever to turn the platform bridge counterclockwise. Clear the rubble to find Oswald’s Trumpet.
- Return the Trumpet to the pedestal next to the central machine and use it to scare another Question Mark out of Oswald.
- Place this Question Mark in the empty slot and spin the platform twice to face the closed gate.
- Interact with the new lever to open the path to the Spark of Imagination. Watch the cutscene.
Welcome Home, Oswald!
After the cutscene, find Oswald on Eternity Isle and begin his quest, “Oswald’s Many Dimensions.” Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Change into the provided outfit (Fedora, black shirt, white pants).
- Find and collect black and white flowers around the valley. Give them to Oswald.
- Break the sign in front of Oswald with your pickaxe to overcome the communication barrier.
- Gather materials (Tropical Wood x15, Coal Ore x10, Amber x1) to craft Oswald’s Oswaldian Pencil.
- Give Oswald the Pencil and receive the blueprints for his house.
- Place Oswald’s house wherever you like.
A Flat Note? Not for Long!
There’s a slight snag! Upon talking to Oswald, you’ll discover the house lacks depth. To fix this, purchase 3D Glasses from Scrooge McDuck (1,050 Star Coins).
- Equip the 3D Glasses and interact with the sign in front of Oswald’s house to complete it.
- Congratulations! You’ve unlocked Oswald as a permanent resident of your valley!

How to Unlock Daisy Duck in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Your first step is to chat with Mickey Mouse. After installing the update, find him strolling around the valley (use the map to locate his icon if needed). Mickey will tell you about Daisy’s letter and her exciting return.
Now comes the fun part – building Daisy’s new home!
- Open the Furniture menu.
- Look for the Mickey Mouse icon (identifying purchasable homes).
- Select Daisy’s house and choose its location within the valley.
Just like any other building project, Scrooge McDuck holds the purse strings. Head over to the Scrooge McDuck sign near Daisy’s house and pay 20,000 Star Coins.
After a brief cutscene, the one and only Daisy Duck will officially join your valley as a villager! Now you can embark on adventures and build a beautiful friendship together.
