Kang The Conqueror is unable to utilize his most powerful Marvel Comics weapon since Thanos used it during the MCU’s Infinity Saga.
Kang’s Strongest Power Is Impossible in the MCU (Thanos’ Fault)
The MCU has positioned Kang the Conqueror as their next major antagonist.
The figure was first alluded to in the first season of Loki, had his first complete appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and will be the main enemy in the upcoming Marvel film Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Kang, a time traveler from the far future, is one of the greatest threats the heroes of the MCU have ever faced because of his ability to travel through not only all of time but also the multiverse.
Kang is a formidable foe due to his technological and weaponry expertise, despite his lack of innate powers; nevertheless, one of his most effective weapons has already been deployed.
Since its introduction in Tales of Suspense #79, published by Marvel Comics in 1966, the Cosmic Cube has become one of the most sought-after artifacts in the Marvel Universe.
While the Cosmic Cubes were at first thought to have originated on Earth with AIM, it was subsequently discovered that many different cultures had developed and employed them as containment mechanisms for immense power capable of granting wishes and distorting reality.
Despite competition from powerful beings like the Magus, Thanos, and the Red Skull, Kang the Conqueror appears to have the upper hand when it comes to the Cosmic Cube.
The Tesseract is too similar to Kang’s Cosmic Cube plot
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 #19 from 2009, the Magus, an evil Adam Warlock from the future, attacked the titular team, and Kang the Conqueror came to their aid.
While hiding from the Magus, Kang admitted that he had used a Cosmic Cube to his advantage.
Kang’s ability to reshape the Cosmic Cubes, which contain more power than most people can fathom, establishes him as one of Marvel’s most fearsome adversaries.
While it would be awesome to see this in the MCU, the Tesseract from the Infinity Saga was clearly influenced by the Cosmic Cube.
Although the Tesseract was first shown in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), it wasn’t until Thor: The Dark World that its true purpose in the MCU was revealed.
Because it held the Space Stone, the Tesseract was highly sought after by MCU characters throughout the Infinity Saga, especially once Thanos embarked on his mission to amass all six Infinity Stones.
Thanos molded reality in much the same way as Kang the Conqueror would have with the Cosmic Cube had he been able to destroy the Tesseract and acquire the Infinity Stones.
Here’s why there won’t be another Tesseract in the MCU
It’s feasible Kang the Conqueror may get his hands on a new Cosmic Cube in the MCU, but Marvel Studios would be wise to steer clear of that plot point.
It would be a step backward for the Tesseract or Infinity Stones to play a significant role in the Multiverse Saga since that the MCU has moved on from them. The Avengers’ first outing in the MCU was Loki’s quest to retrieve the Tesseract, and Marvel Studios probably wouldn’t want to repeat that.
A serious threat to the future of the MCU is posed by Kang the Conqueror and his offshoots, although it appears that the Cosmic Cube will not be included.
