Get ready to be thrilled as the much-awaited The Marvels teaser trailer is finally out! This upcoming movie is the sequel to the highly successful Captain Marvel and features an ensemble cast of female superheroes.
Brie Larson reprises her role as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, and is joined by Teyonah Parris, who played Monica Rambeau in WandaVision, and Iman Vellani, who recently starred in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel.
The story of The Marvels takes place after the events of Ms. Marvel and sees the trio of powerful women teaming up to face new threats. The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into what’s in store for fans, revealing that Monica Rambeau now works as an astronaut and discovers her own set of superpowers.
The trailer also introduces Park Seo-joon, the South Korean actor known for his roles in Parasite and Itaewon Class, in a yet-to-be-disclosed role. Saagar Shaikh, Zenoiba Shroff, and Mohan Kapur play the roles of Kamala’s older brother, mother, and father, respectively. Meanwhile, Zawe Ashton portrays a mysterious villain, and Goose, the fan-favorite Flerken, makes a highly anticipated return to the screen.
Nia DaCosta, the director behind 2021’s Candyman, will be making her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Marvels. This will make her the first Black woman and fourth woman to direct a film in the MCU. DaCosta collaborated with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells to create the film’s screenplay.
