Strange World features a voice cast including Jake Gyllenhaal as Searcher Clade, a family man on an unpredictable mission; Dennis Quaid as Jaeger, Searcher’s explorer father; Jaboukie Young-White as Ethan, Searcher’s adventure-seeking son; Gabrielle Union as Meridian Clade, Searcher’s accomplished pilot partner; and Lucy Liu as Callisto Mal, Avalonia’s fearless leader.
This latest animated film introduces us to the Clades – a family of explorers as they navigate a treacherous, uncharted land with the help of a mischievous blob, a three-legged dog, and various unfriendly creatures. Strange World was released in cinemas last November 23 and was noted to be Walt Disney Studio’s attempt to introduce its very first LGBTQ+ main character.
