When talk about Disney movies in 2018 comes to mind, most casual fans would name either the upcoming Star Wars spinoff Solo, or any of the three installments of the MCU like Black Panther this February. But Walt Disney Pictures itself has a movie this year: A Wrinkle in Time.
Based on the 1962 science fantasy book by Madeleine L’Engle, this film is the second live-action treatment by Disney on the novel, following a TV movie aired on ABC in 2003. It follows the adventures of an intelligent girl and her family as they search the universe for their father.
A Wrinkle in Time film is set to premiere in March. To build up hype, considering that the story’s based on an old (if award-winning) book, Disney has released a new 30-second TV spot for the movie online. It takes choice scenes from the first trailer and really ratchets the suspense.
The film stars Storm Reid as Meg Murry, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Deric McCabe, Michael Peña and Zach Galifianakis among others. Ava DuVernay directs the movie based on a screenplay by Tobias A. Schliessler. Catch A Wrinkle in Time on cinemas this March 9.
