Last month, Disney gave us another glimpse on the Tim Burton reboot of Lewis Caroll’s classic children’s tale, Alice in Wonderland. In its second official trailer, we saw Alice (Mia Wasikowska) hurrying back to the world of Underland to the aid of his friend the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) as she escapes from a mental institution that apparently doesn’t share her beliefs and conveniently labelling her as suffering from a ‘textbook case of female hysteria”.
Now Disney treats us once more to another trailer just before we see the film on the big screen starting on May 27. As shared by Comicbook.com, the YouTube uploaded video comes with Spanish subtitles, and thankfully, you don’t need to learn the language to fully appreciate the additional scenes and other revelations that shows Alice racing against the villainous Time (Sacha Baron Cohen) in order to save the Mad Hatter and the rest of Wonderland. Watch this:
This third trailer gives us new scenes that show Alice getting (stealing?) a presumably precious item from Time’s safekeeping, and apparently going back in time to meet a younger version of the Hatter. It is an interesting rendition of Caroll’s 1871 sequel Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There. With Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter persistently reminding us that “this cannot be good”, we are more curious to see how Alice can manage to pull this one through.
In addition to this newest trailer, Inside the Magic showed us three more posters that highlight some of the endearing characters of the film. The Cheshire Cat is a winner, with his innocent-looking, glassy eyes. Don’t you think so?
