Disney’s newest trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass is one of the most colorful trailers that we have ever seen. Since the debut of its first trailer last November, movie fans are raring to see how Alice will find his way back to Underland. The second trailer may have provided some bits and pieces of info that prompted Alice to return. It shows Alice in a most undesirable situation: being confined in a mental institution having a diagnosis of female hysteria. It is somehow dubious to think if she is really in need of fixing.
Take a look.
The sequel sees the return of Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Helena Bonham Carter in their all too familiar characters based on Lewis Caroll’s classic tale, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Joining them in this sequel are Sacha Baron Cohen (playing the role of Time) and Rhys Ifans as the Cheshire Cat. Through the Looking Glass picks up a few years after the events of the first film, as Alice has been sailing the high seas and following in her father’s footsteps. However, when she returns to London, a magical looking glass returns her to Underland where she must go back in time to save the Mad Hatter’s life (played by Johnny Depp), and battling a new villain Time himself.
These still images from the latest sequel clearly show Director James Bobin’s colorful aesthetic tastes reminiscent of Tim Burton’s original work, which raked over 1 billion US dollars worldwide. It doesn’t come as a surprise if the Mouse House saw the potential of the CG-intensive film to be developed into a franchise, with a sequel that is as colorful and breathtaking as that of the first.

Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) has spent the past few years following in her father’s footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland and her friends the White Rabbit (Sheen), Absolem (Rickman), the Cheshire Cat (Fry) and the Mad Hatter (Depp), who is not himself. The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time. Returning to the past, she comes across friends – and enemies – at different points in their lives, and embarks on a perilous race to save the Hatter before time runs out. Presented in Digital 3D™, Real D 3D and IMAX® 3D, Disney’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass” opens in U.S. theaters on May 27, 2016.
