Our latest Star Wars astromech is surely getting a lot of attention since his debut in Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and it seems that our adorable droid has won the hearts of the people behind the NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). So before they venture out for their ambitious trip to Mars, the folks from NASA wanted to make sure that BB-8 gets to meet his real robotic cousins. Take a look at these photos shared to us by the good ‘ol folks from JPL via Tweeter.

Afterwards, BB-8 paid a visit at the NASA’s historic clean room to witness how his robotic space counterparts are made. Perhaps BB-8 can teach them a thing or two about spaceflight and hyperdrives.
