CAN THIS BE THE “OFFICIAL” STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS BLU-RAY AND DVD BOX ART?

Walmart can’t seem to avoid the temptation of posting what seems to be a legit rendition of Star Wars: The Force Awakens exclusive box art for its Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD versions. Though Amazon.com also posted a same announcement and is already accepting pre-orders retailing from $14.99 to $19.99, it is interesting to note that Walmart on the other hand, has removed The Force Awakens from its online inventory which means there are no current options for pre-orders to them. However, they retained the box art and even mentioned a release date which reads December 31, 2016. Amazon, on the other hand, doesn’t mention any similar release date or any special features of the home movie version of The Force Awakens. Speaking about the Walmart’s box art pic, it would be nice though if the ‘official’ version will have the episode number mentioned on its spine.

Stitch Kingdom also mentions possible bonus features that were somehow leaked by online Swedish retailer cdon.se, which was subsequently removed as well. According to the site, these bonus features include:

  • Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey
  • The Story Awakens: The Table Read
  • Building BB-8
  • Crafting Creatures
  • Blueprint of a Battle: The Snow Fight
  • The Visual Magic Of The Force
  • John Williams: The Seventh Symphony
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Force For Change

We can safely assume that we will see a lot more of these online exclusives later on in the feature. It’s also most likely that we will see an official announcement from Disney anytime before the holiday season prior to the release of the Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One.
