Walt Disney Studios offered us another sneak peek on its upcoming reimagining of the beloved film, “The Jungle Book” through this new TV spot. In a powerful, half-minute teaser dubbed as Living the Legend, the TV spot shows the devoted Bagheera (Ben Kingsley) and Baloo (Bill Murray) try to protect Mowgli (Neel Sethi) from Shere Khan (Idris Elba) as they embark on a mission to return him to his human village.
Directed by Iron Man’s Jon Favreau, “The Jungle Book” is a retelling of Rudyard Kipling’s timeless story in an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli, the man-cub who was raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli soon learns that not everyone welcomes him into the fold when the dreadful tiger Shere Khan sees him as a threat and vows to eliminate Mowgli at all costs. With no choice but to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli moves on to a journey of self-discovery, guided by his wise panther-mentor Bagheera, and the comical and free-spirited bear Baloo.
The all-star cast also includes Scarlett Johansson playing the voice of the deceitful python Kaa, Christopher Walken as the two-faced, smooth talking King Louie, Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela.
Using the latest in CGI technology, Disney’s latest remake perfectly combines live-action with photo-realistic CGI animals and natural-looking environments. Couple it with Disney’s excellent storytelling then you have a great movie that the whole family can watch out for.
Mowgli and the rest of his gang in “The Jungle Book” will hit the theaters in 3D on April 15, 2016.
