Disney is revving things up for its highly-anticipated sequel of the 2003 hit movie ‘Finding Nemo’. In partnership with Bandai, Disney Consumer Products have unveiled a new global product lineup celebrating Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory (slated to debut on June 17, 2016).
“With the beloved characters from Finding Nemo joining a fantastic new supporting cast of friends, our expansive line is sure to spark imaginations worldwide to share in Dory’s aquatic journey,” said Kenji Washida, Vice President of Brand Management, Bandai America Incorporated. “From kids to adult collectors and everyone in between, the Finding Dory line from Bandai offers something magical for the whole family.”
Bandai’s products capture the essence of the feature film and transform key moments into playsets, interactive toys, feature figures, plush, bath toys and much more. One of their offerings include the interactive soft figure, ‘My Friend Dory’ which features 50 different recognizable phrases as Dory responds to swimming and upside-down movements. Another sure hit are the ‘Swigglefish Figure Assortments’ that highlights unique ‘fun fish motion’ of the movie’s aquatic characters such as Dory, Nemo, Marlin and a host of new underwater friends. Such innovations, Bandai believes, will provide children with a more engaging and fun play experience. The merchandise is expected to roll out globally beginning in May, a month before the film’s release.
Disney∙Pixar’s Finding Dory brings moviegoers back to the extraordinary underwater world from the original film. The sequel reunites the friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish with her loved ones, and everyone learns a few things about the true meaning of family along the way.
