Superheroes are dominating the entertainment landscape (in case you haven’t noticed). From movies to TV to video games, everybody wants to get their hands on the most popular characters or get further ingrained in the storylines. So why leave it to only the teens and adults to have all the superhero fun? We should bring some of it to the young’ns!
Thankfully, Disney Junior is doing just that with their new show ‘PJ Masks’! Airing for the first time last week, PJ Masks brings a fresh take on superheroes for the little ones. The show is inspired by the French children’s book series, Les Pyjamasques, which is wildly successful in Europe, and follows the story of three children, 6-year-olds Connor, Amaya and Greg, that once they put their pajamas on have the ability to transform into their superhero alter egos: Catboy, Owlette and Gekko. Not just their clothing, but a special animal amulet gives them their powers as they take on baddies and help make the world a better place. It’s a humorous, witty take on a bursting genre that was lacking for the pre-school boy and girl.
