Marvel always does a superb job at bringing many of the best superheroes together for the same story. I mean, that’s how we got The Avengers after all, but typically in the stand-alone films of the Marvel Universe we don’t see a ton of cross-pollination. Until now.
A few weeks back we told you that Captain America: Civil War would be adding Bilbo Baggins to the list of characters. Haha, well no…not actually ‘Bilbo’ from The Hobbit, but Martin Freeman, who plays Bilbo in the films, was joining the cast. Turns out that was just the first in a flurry of character announcements for the project.
Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Iron Man, ‘Jarvis’), Sebastian Stan (Captain America, ‘Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier’), Don Cheadle (Iron Man, ‘War Machine’), Scarlett Johansson (Avengers, ‘Black Widow’), and Elizabeth Olsen (Avengers: Age of Ultron, ‘Scarlet Witch’) will all join Chris Evans (Captain America) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) in the third installment of Captain America which will pit Iron Man against Captain America in what looks to be an epic film. I mean, if the name solicited above are any indication, it will be a great one. Sheesh…I’m tired form just writing all of that. And here’s the crazy part…there are even more heroes I’m not mentioning!
Plot lines beyond the battle of Iron man and Captain America are still a little limited, but we’ll tell you more as they come out. Captain America: Civil War is slated for a May 6, 2016 release.
