In what could be incredible news, and quite shocking news, as well, rumors are swirling that J.J. Abrams and Disney may push the release of the highly-anticipated new installment in the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, UP from the 2015 Christmas season to THIS SUMMER! Again, I can’t emphasize enough that’s these are simply rumors, but good grief that would be ridiculous, and a little puzzling.
Over the past few years the main Christmas-season box office giant were the Hobbit films, but with those completed, Star Wars: The Force Awakens seemed to have the season completely on lock. Why move from the end of 2015 to the most congested season of blockbuster movies in the box office? Why move your release up closer to the release of Avengers: The Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, both Disney powerhouse films?
Well, the answer may have come as a response to the massive amount of continuous leaks from the film’s production that keep making their way to the internet. The rumors come from a very well-informed YouTuber. For more info on the potential summer release (and other awesome Disney news in this episode), watch this:
