Yes, there’s a ton of Marvel news coming out recently, and here’s the final one that we’ll cover this week. As part of Marvel’s Phase 3 rollout we’ll get to see some new types of superheroes, including the first woman superhero and the first black main character for a Marvel film! The upcoming film Black Panther won’t be released until 2017, but we’ll get to see ‘Black Panther’ a little earlier as a part of the upcoming third Captain America movie, Captain America: Civil War. And who will be playing ‘Black Panther’?
Chadwick Boseman. Boseman made an appearance with Chris Evans (Captain America) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) recently to hype the upcoming films. Civil War will star both Downey Jr. and Evans in as dual frontmen. Boseman will join them, and also signed a five picture deal with Marvel that should last for a large portion of Phase 3.
Boseman is best known for his biography roles as ‘Jackie Robinson’ in 42 and ‘James Brown’ in Get On Up. He’s a young, talented actor that should bring a lot to the franchise. Great hire.
Black Panther is scheduled to release November 3, 2017.
