Some casting rumors are swirling for the newest installment of Star Wars, which releases some time next year. When I first heard the name I didn’t think it was a fit, but the more I think about it from his roles, I think it could work wonderfully. Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad, Battleship) is reportedly being considered for a major role in the new chapters of the franchise.
The Wrap is reporting that while no decisions have been made yet, Plemons is considered one of the finalists for the position. The Wrap stated, “Plemons has already taped an audition that was well-received by those involved in the casting process, and he’ll be flying in to Los Angeles from Austin, Texas for a second audition that will bring him face-to-face with Abrams.”
This would be an incredible opportunity for Plemons, who to this point has been mostly featured as a supporting actor. Even if it doesn’t work out for this role, though, the potential connections with Director J.J. Abrams, Disney and LucasFilm is a great spot to find yourself.
