Stanton Lets ‘Finding Nemo 2’ News Slip

We’ve highlighted the rumors before, but recently Disney director Andrew Stanton (John Carter, pictured above) let it slip in an interview that a sequel to Finding Nemo sure seems to be on his personal docket. Let the joy begin…with more certainty, haha! It was when discussing the failures of Carter that Stanton mentioned this about Nemo 2:

“What was immediately on the list was writing a second ‘Carter’ movie,’ he said. “When that went away, everything slid up. I know I’ll be accused by more sarcastic people that [‘Nemo 2’]‘s a reaction to ‘Carter’ not doing well, but only in its timing, but not in its conceit.”

Sure sounds to me like we have more than Finding Nemo in 3D to look forward, too; there’s going to be a brand new installment! Obviously, this is still a bit of a rumor since neither Pixar, nor Disney, have officially confirmed this, but it’s just even more smoke on the fire.

Two of you mentioned in the previous post this summer that you’d rather see sequels to older Disney movies. What do you think, though? Finding Nemo 2 or continued Disney classic?
