‘Saving Mr. Banks’ Adds Some Big Names

Mary Poppins received some love in the London 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony. Did you see it? Dozens of ‘Poppins’ glided down on their umbrellas as a tribute to the impact the super-nanny character has made on the world, and primarily Great Britain, over the years. And many big names in Hollywood apparently love ol’ Poppins, as well.

This past week B.J. Novak (The Office) and Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man, Sideways) joined the star-studded cast for the upcoming film, Saving Mr. Banks. Based on the making of the classic Mary Poppins, Saving Mr. Banks was a difficult project for Disney to obtain. But with a cast featuring Tom Hanks, as Mr. Banks, Colin Farrel, Novak, Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman and Emma Thompson the film should provide a lot of hype as we get closer to its release. But first…filming, which begins this September.
