Disney Channel just keeps on coming. Even while some shows are ending (Wizards of Waverly Place) Disney Channel is creating more stories, shows and characters for it’s fans to fall in love with. One theme that works its way into nearly every Disney story is friendship, which will also be the basis of the new Disney Channel original movie, Frenemies. The movie follows three pairs of friends as they navigate the delicate balance when besties go to worsties, and all the way back again. The movie is set to premiere on Disney Channel, Friday, January 13 at 8pm ET/CT! Here’s a synopsis of the movie:
“Frenemies” follows the lives of three very different sets of friends dealing with the ups and downs of friendship. The first story follows Halley and Avalon, best friends who are overjoyed when a publisher wants to turn their fashion blog into a magazine, but their friendship is put to the test when they learn that the magazine only wants one of them to stay on as senior editor. The second story follows the inseparable science-whiz Jake and his dog, Murray. Jake is excited to introduce Murray to his new science project partner (and crush), Julianne, but there’s something about her that Murray just doesn’t like – and the feeling is mutual. In the last story, tomboy Savannah, who comes from a large high-energy family, meets privileged uptown girl Emma, who looks like her twin. The two girls become fast friends and decide to trade places for a while, but realize that life on the other side isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.
Starting December 15, you can go to DisneyChannel.com to meet the Frenemies characters and play a mini-game dedicated to the three-fold story of the movie. Make sure to check the site before the premiere, as some familiar Disney faces will be appearing in the movie! There’s sure to be plenty of drama and some heartwarming reconciliation in this one. Oh…to be 13 again.
