Looks like Walt Disney Pictures is revisiting what it does so well…fairies and fantasy. The studio has decided to move forward with stalled plans to bring the “King of the Elves” to the big screen. “King of the Elves” is a short story that was developed by fiction writer Philip K Dick. It’s central character, elderly Shadrach Jones, is elected king of an elf army who must lead them to battle against the trolls.
This full length animated feature, scheduled now for a 2013 release, is being directed by Chris Williams, director of Disney’s “Bolt“. Script writer, Michael Markowitz (“Horrible Bosses”) has also signed on to the project.
