LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Comes Alive in 3DS

Just Announced! LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean the video game will also be available in 3DS starting in May 2011. Fans will be able to experience a handheld 3D gaming experience like no other as Jack Sparrow and company navigate through “stranger tides”.

The game will include features such as the “Pirate Duel,” a chance encounter system, and high resolution graphics as well as support for Play Coins.  The Nintendo 3DS “Pirate Duel” mode allows players to cross swords with nearby Nintendo 3DS owners using the Street Pass feature. The Street Pass feature automatically detects and communicates with other Nintendo 3DS devices.  Once another Nintendo 3DS is initiated, “Pirate Duel” pits the players against each other. Players can participate in duels to earn Play Coins that will unlock and allow them to use new characters. By winning duels, players also gain experience points, allowing them to move up the ranks and gain new rewards including extra health, new moves, new titles and extra characters. Not a fan of the 3D movement?  Don’t worry.  You will also have the option of turning off the 3D mode and playing the game in standard 2D.
